Features of windows 8.1

Windows 8.1 code named (Windows Blue) is the first major upgrade to windows 8. Here are some of the new cool features that are added to windows 8.1. 

WIndows 8

Start button is back

The good news is the Start button is back on windows 8.1. On windows 8 start button was killed most disliked changes from windows 7 to windows 8. 

Boot to Desktop

Users will be able to change the settings so that windows 8.1 boots directly to the desktop mode. 

Tile sizes

Both small and extra-large size for live tiles has been offered on windows 8.1. 

Multiple tiles can be moved at once.


No pinning apps to start screen automatically

In windows 8 apps downloaded and installed are automatically pinned to start screen. Now in windows 8.1 there will be  more cleaner and neater start screen. No messed up start screen on windows 8.1.

Auto Updates

All purchased apps will be automatically upgraded when upgrades are available. Let them automatically upgarde when your pc is free from heavy use. 

Background image on the start screen

Windows 8.1 will let you use the same desktop background for the start screen so both metro style start screen window and desktop will not look completely different. 


Lock screen

Now the lock screen on the windows 8.1 can show slides of your photo collection or you can start a Skype video session without unlocking the screen. Isn't that cool. 


App syncing across all devices

If you own more than windows 8 devices, either Windows 8 PC or Windows 8 Deskotp or windows 8 tablet, all apps will be automatically synced between them. Also you can disable auto syncing for each app individually. 

More snap options

Now in windows 8.1 there are more snap options. Now two apps can share screen in number of ways - 50/50, 60/40, 70/30.
